Come aboard for our meetin’, matey!

Yep, it’s that time again for everyone volunteering to help at VBS to gather!

Prior to VBS I try to set up a couple meetings so we all feel comfortable before the week is upon us.  I want everyone to feel good, great, fantastic and “charged” when walking through the doors of SOTP on the morning of Monday, July 26th.  Those fun and positive vibes are contagious!  In order to feel good and comfortable with your materials, meetings can be a huge help.  The following dates are set up and if you need to work out another date and time, please just contact me – it’s all good!

Crew Leader Meeting (as a group)

Tuesday, June 22nd – 6pm at SOTP

Station Leader Meeting (individual/one on one meetings)

Throughout the day on Thursday, June 24th – Decide on a time and place with me.

And of course, who can pass up a Bake Sale?  Right?!  So, on Sunday, July 4th I’d like to ask that everyone bring at least one sweet treat to try and sell.  This will be going on before and after both services.  Your help is greatly appreciated!  All the money raised will go toward paying for t-shirts this year. Please make sure to have your bake sale items packaged, wrapped and priced!  We need it all ready to sell as soon as you put it on the table, so thanks in advance.

Also, coming up is Rally Day, Saturday, July 10th.  This is something new for us this year!  It will give us all a quick snap shot of the experience the kids will be having the week of VBS.  The time WAS set at 4pm however, the time has been changed to 3pm (due to a close overlap with the 5pm Saturday service, we moved it up an hour).

Gathering together!

Coming soon!  We (Greg Dowell, Jill Gillming and myself) will send out a message as to when our volunteers need to meet up.  But first the three of us are going to look over the names of the many wonderful people who have already said they will volunteer their mornings during VBS.  If you do know of anyone that you think would like to pitch in and help that week, by all means, let them know they are more than welcome to help out! 

So, after we’ve decided who is assigned where, phone calls will be made to let you know when your group needs to attend.  I intend to split up volunteers into groups this year.  (*For example: If you’ve asked to be a Crew Leader…you will only meet with the entire group of Crew Leader volunteers at your meeting.  Or if you are a Station Leader…you’ll only be at a meeting with Station Leaders.  And so on and so on.)

A “Barrel” of Donations…

Well, last Sunday we set up the Donation Board and most of the barrel shaped item requests FLEW off the board!  What a blessing!

There will be more requests posted tomorrow (May 16th) at both services.  So please feel free to direct any friends or family to come check us out.  Any help or support would be greatly appreciated – thanks!

Thank you’s; Registration Table; Donations and more!

Coming up next with VBS…On Sunday, May 9th will be the next time our registration table is set up. We are still welcoming more friends to the High Seas, ahoy!

Thank you to everyone who has already said they will dedicate their time during the week of VBS as a Station Leader or a Crew Leader or an Assistant. We welcome Kristy Warnke as our Pre-school Director this year as well!!!
